I took my yearly salmon fishing trip to the Pere Marquette River in Baldwin, MI last week, and then went up Tuesday for an Encore with Adam Lucio. The first trip went rather uneventful, with only one fair catch hook up on the first day within 10 minutes of getting onto the river. I arrived somewhat late, and only had 3 days as it was.
When I arrived on Tuesday, it was pouring rain. We didn't get onto the river until about 4:30-5pm or so, which only left a couple hours of daylight fishing. I caught the first fish right away, then hooked into a few others, not landing anymore the first day.
I had a spectacular weekend, which really started out at work on Thursday. The supervisors (me included) cooked breakfast for our employees. I cooked 8 pounds of bacon and 4 pans of cheesy potatoes. It was a good change of pace for once at work, and I think most of the employees appreciated it.
On Friday I went down and hung out with fellow storm chaser Adam Lucio at his cottage down near Colon, MI. The drive down wasn't bad at all, taking me about 90 minutes or so. We went to WalMart, and bought a bunch of random stuff, including me buying 6 bottles of hand sanitizer. We had the cashier laughing the whole time we rang up 3 separate orders (don't ask).
I finally got around to getting my video edited and online.
So I spent the past week fishing up north for salmon. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were spent fishing in the Pere Marquette River, but I stayed in Ludington at the state park. Below is video that I shot at the state park. Tomorrow I should have video from the Pere Marquette River edited up.
