JR Hehnly and I took a trip out to New Mexico for the Trinity Site open house. We left after work Friday and drove to Santa Rosa, New Mexico for the night. On Saturday morning we got up early so we were at the front gate at White Sands Missile Range before 7am. The Trinity Site on White Sands was having its twice-annual open house. Afterwards, we headed over to the Very Large Array/VLA before ending the day in Albuquerque. Sunday included a trip up to Los Alamos, Bandelier National Monument, and Valles Caldera National Preserve. Both very beautiful parks!
Overall, visiting the site is a must do for anyone interested in the United States nuclear program.
