My friend Dylan needed to make a trip to Mexico City to finish up some paperwork. He was planning to stay a few extra days and explore Mexico City afterwards. So, he invited me down. Of course I wanted to go, so I booked a round-trip from OKC for $360. I got some nights at the Hampton Inn Centro Historico for 10,000 Hilton Points each. This made the trip extremely cheap to do.

We explored Teotihuacan as well. The pyramids were excellent and a highlight of the trip. I climbed the pyramid of the sun about 6 months after having my knee repaired with ACL surgery. It wasn’t much of a goal, but it meant a lot to me to be able to do it.

The best part of the trip was the food. We had some amazing meals on this trip, none of them which I could name. If you ever get the chance to visit, go for it! Mexico City is an amazing destination. I never once felt unsafe.

Once I got home, I had to immediately repack my bags to head to San Francisco for Redhat Summit. I fell horribly ill during that event, and spent most of it in my hotel room.
