Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral in Mexico City

Mexico City

My friend Dylan needed to make a trip to Mexico City to finish up some paperwork. He was planning to stay a few extra days and explore Mexico City afterwards. So, he invited me down. Of course I wanted to go, so I booked a round-trip from OKC for $360. I got some nights at the Hampton Inn Centro Historico for 10,000 each. This made the trip extremely cheap to do.

We explored Teotihuacan as well. The pyramids were excellent and a highlight of the trip. I climbed the pyramid of the sun about 6 months after having my knee repaired with ACL surgery. It wasn’t much of a goal, but it meant a lot to me to be able to do it.

The best part of the trip was the food. We had some amazing meals on this trip, none of them which I could name. If you ever get the chance to visit, go for it! Mexico City is an amazing destination. I never once felt unsafe.

Once I got home, I had to immediately repack my bags to head to San Francisco for Redhat Summit. I fell horribly ill during that event, and spent most of it in my hotel room.
