Chase Recap:

As is usual this time of year, I didn’t start this day expecting to chase. It was the last day of work for me at Liquid Web, and I ended up staying there until around 3pm, at which time I left. I ran to the store and got a few items then headed home. I had to run an absentee ballot to Holt, and then was throwing a party later in the day.

While I was on my way to Holt, the NWS issued a Tornado Warning for the cells along the warm front near Kalamazoo. I decided to head south on US-127 and then west on I-94 to M-60. The cell which was tornado warned and even had a tornado report near Battle Creek seemingly became less organized.

I originally wanted to go after the cell in Branch County near Coldwater, but Grand Rapids re-issued a tornado warning on the cell coming out of Calhoun County, so I stuck with that cell.

I never found any real signs of organization, and gave up near Spring Arbor with the intent on dropping south. The cell that had come out of Coldwater was showing some incredible rotation on both the Grand Rapids and Northern Indiana radars, although it was going to be hard for me to get to the storms in time.

I ended up giving up around Cement City as the storm fell apart, just as I was getting into position to get in front of it.
