Chase Recap:

The original plan was to go to Illinois but after the bust on Wednesday I felt underwhelmed and decided to pass on chasing Thursday up north. Big mistake. I had posted 3 days prior that my target was Rochelle, IL. What a horrible mistake.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p>I think I&#39;ll sit in Rochelle, IL on Thursday. Picked that as a target despite hating the name with a passion.</p>&mdash; Ben Holcomb (@wx8ben) <a href=”https://twitter.com/wx8ben/status/585292287753625600″>April 7, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

So I ended up chasing in east Texas and didn’t see a whole heck of a lot, just a shelf cloud without any lightning near Mt Pleasant, TX. I was a little too far north to go after the Longview, TX storms which actually did produce tornadoes.

As I was heading back west towards Dallas/Fort Worth, I saw what was going on in Illinois and my heart sank. I busted, hard.
