Travel Arrangements to Alaska

We flew into Anchorage, Alaska on Delta using our skymiles rewards. I had status and thee Delta Platinum American Express, so I was able to check 2 bags per person. We brought camping gear and clothing in 3 bags.

After arriving in Anchorage, we rented a vehicle. They didn’t have the full size car I rented, so we were conveniently upgraded to a 4×4 Pickup Truck. Bummer.

Denali National Park

Day 1 included a trip up to Denali National Park. We setup our camp and then visited the Visitors Center. We booked our bus trip to Wonder Lake for the next day.

Early to rise, we were out to Wonder Lake. If there is one thing I can say about Alaska, it feels like you are in a painting. Constantly. We were lucky enough to see Moose and Bear on the first day and had the greatest driver ever.

The second day we took a trip to Eielson, Still, I cannot describe the absolute beauty Denali National Park provides.

The third day we tore down camp and then drove our rental into the first miles of Denali. After a short trip in, we headed south towards Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward.
